"Saddles sound very nice. Really organic and seems to bring out more of a woody tone overall. I put them in my R-0 and my ES-339. They seem to remove any shrillness that the metal saddles could have made and make the top end sweeter and smooth. Doesn't reduce the treble any, it just makes it clearer and more even."

"My Historic is an '04...Very interesting change. Everything really sweetens up, especially the top end. The guitar actually feels different because of the change in tonal response. For lack of a better word, it feels "older" like it's been broken in. A deeper low end, mids seemed to open up and top-end has sweetened. A clear, "buttery" tone."

"BONE-O-MATIC" Handmade BONE Saddles are sold in sets-of-six, for GIBSON ABR-1 STYLE BRIDGES ONLY. Saddle sets are available separately or installed in a NEW GIBSON ABR-1 Bridge (Chrome, Nickel or Gold finish).

UNNOTCHED saddle sets feature a virgin top edge and will need to be custom-notched by you (or your luthier), prior to being strung. If your ABR-1 equipped guitar currently has string spacing well-aligned to the fingerboard edges (neck set), yet not located evenly at very near the saddle centers (off-center notches), you should opt for the unnotched saddles.

LIGHTLY-NOTCHED saddle sets have been installed, notched, strung, adjusted and played-in, to a "typical" standard that achieves professional results, most of the time (see main photo above). The string spacing will be "custom-located" very near the center of each saddle, and should work well for any Gibson (or Gibson style guitar) with a typically "straight & even" bridge alignment and factory neck set.

PLEASE READ: If you wish to purchase a set of saddles only, for your Gibson ABR-1, or ABR-1 replica bridge from another manufacturer, you must ship your bridge to me for custom-fitting of the saddles. Unfortunately, ABR-1's can be quite inconsistent, from the final shaping and removal of any "molding" marks, to the locating and drilling of the set screw recieving holes, to the plating thickness. Unlike Nickel-plated Brass saddles, which can be forced into position without breaking, or Nylon, which can "flex" into position under string pressure, Bone is solid and unforgiving. It must fit correctly to function correctly. Only through custom-fitting of the saddle sets to a specific bridge, can proper fit and function be assured.
